Is Anglican Care insurance?
No. Anglican Care is a Health Care Sharing Ministry, not an insurance company. We do not issue policies, collect premiums, or guarantee payment. Members voluntarily share medical needs through monthly contributions.
Can I use any doctor?
Yes. You may seek care from any licensed medical provider. There is no restricted network. We encourage you to negotiate cash-pay rates when possible.
What if I have a pre-existing condition?
Pre-existing conditions are eligible for sharing after 12 months of continuous membership in good standing. After the waiting period, pre-existing conditions are eligible for sharing on the same basis as all other medical needs.
Conditions that existed prior to membership but for which no medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, medication, or symptoms occurred during the twelve months prior to enrollment are not considered pre-existing and are eligible for sharing immediately.
How long does it take to process a medical need?
We acknowledge receipt within 5 business days and make a determination within 60 days of receiving all required documentation.
What is a Member Responsibility Amount (MRA)?
The MRA is the initial amount you are responsible for before sharing begins. It varies by program level — from $1,000 (Complete) to $5,000 (Foundational). The Senior Care MRA is $500 per incident.
Can I cancel my membership?
Yes. You may cancel at any time by providing written notice. Cancellation is effective at the end of the current contribution period.
Are my contributions tax-deductible?
Monthly contributions to a Health Care Sharing Ministry are not tax-deductible as charitable contributions. Consult your tax advisor for guidance.
What happens if I miss a payment?
A grace period extends to the end of the month. If your contribution is more than 60 days overdue, your membership may be terminated. Contact us immediately if you face hardship — we are here to work with you.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept three payment methods:
- Automatic bank withdrawal (ACH) — recurring monthly, set up during enrollment
- Credit or debit card — recurring monthly
- Check by mail — must be received by the 1st of each month
Get 1 month free with annual payment.
Is maternity care covered?
Maternity needs are eligible for sharing after 12 months of continuous membership. Pregnancy existing at the time of enrollment is not considered a pre-existing condition. See the Sharing Guidelines for full maternity details.
What about prescription medications?
Eligible prescriptions are shared up to $5,000 per incident. Over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and supplements are not eligible for sharing.
What is the Catastrophic Add-On?
The Catastrophic Support Add-On is an optional add-on to any program. It extends your sharing limit by $1,000,000 per incident for major medical events. It activates automatically when your primary program sharing limit is reached, with no additional MRA. Pricing starts at $37/month for individuals.
How do I submit a medical need?
Submit your medical needs by email to needs@anglicancare.org or by mail. Include a completed Medical Need Form, an itemized bill from your provider, and any Explanation of Benefits from other coverage. Submit within 90 days of the date of service.
